Pollen

1. Tree pollen is affecting us the most right now. Pine and oak trees are where we are getting most of the pollen.

2. For a perfect storm of pollen the weather needs to be dry and windy.

3. I chose the Convolvulaceae pollen(Ipomoea purpurea)because it looks spiky and big. This pollen is commonly found in morning glory flowers. It is divided into 2 subfamilies which are smooth-surfaced and spiny-surfaced.

Matter

1. The five states of matter is solids, liquids, gases, plasmas, and Bose Einstein condensates.

2. To change gas into plasma you need to add more energy to the gas.

3. The temperature at absolute zero for fahrenheit is -459.67, for Celsius it is -273.15, and for Kelvin it is 0.

4. The temperature in space is 3K

5. I think that plasma would look very bright and shiny. It would look like the color of what was around or inside of it. I think it will feel very hot and it would smell like electricity. I do not think that it would have a taste, it would just feel very hot on your tongue.

Earth Day

3 technologies that the school plans to use are rainwater collections, geothermal A/C and solar photovoltaic power systems.

Rain water collections are when you collect water from when it rains and use it to water your garden or flowers. Geothermal A/C is getting heat from underground. Solar photovoltaic power systems are when you get electricity from the sun.

The core issue that I chose is recycling and waste reduction.

The big problem with this issue is that junkyards are filling with things that could have been recycled. An exampl would be the computers in the junkyards that leak toxic waste in to the ground.

To fix this problem I could start to recycle. I have not been recycling and I could also encourage my family and others to recycle. I could get plastic items and paper and recycle those. Another thing I could do is encourage my family to get eco friendly cars and drive less. I think all of these things could help the environment.

There were a total of 31 deaths, 20 in Belize, 8 in Guatemala, and 3 in the Dominican Republic. Hurricane Iris caused severe damage to parts of southern Belize

My Blog

My best blog was blog number 6. That is my best blog because I got to be creative and make the wordle. I liked how I got to think of different ways to make it.

I think that I deserve a 100 because I did all of my blogs and I did them correctly.

My favorite topic was Chapter 9 with the plate tectonics. That is my favorite because I understood it very well and I got a 96 on the test that I took on it. I learned more about Pangaea and how the continents moved. I thought that it was interesting that all the continents fit together like a puzzle and how they moved to where they are today. I wonder if the continents will really move together again in 2 million years?
